Wanted: A new home for two sweet black orphaned chow-chow mixes ages 11 and 9. Bear and Buddy were living happily in Lithia until their elderly owner died before Thanksgiving county officials say. Then for two weeks the dogs mother and son lived in a yard surviving on food from a neighbor. The owners out-of-state children contacted Hillsborough County Animal Services. The dogs arrived at the shelter Dec. 3 with burrs and bugs. But Animal Services spokeswoman Marti Ryan says they previously had good care. Theyve now been to a dog spa and need new homes. Bear and Buddy come with vaccinations and microchips. Rescuers hope to keep them together. For more information call 813 744-5660.
