Holiday closings

The following is a list of closings for south Pinellas County for the New Year's holiday.

Government

Federal, state and county offices: Closed Monday.

City offices: Indian Shores offices will be closed Friday and Monday. Indian Rocks Beach offices will be closed Monday and Tuesday. All other city offices closed Monday.

Post offices: Closed Monday.

Transportation

PSTA and DART: Holiday schedule Monday.

Public services

Banks: Closed Monday.

Courts: Not in session Monday.

Schools: Closed Monday-Friday.

Libraries: West Community Library at St. Petersburg College will be closed Saturday-Monday and Jan. 4. Call for holiday hours through Jan. 5. Indian Rocks Beach Library will be closed Monday and Tuesday. All other libraries closed Monday.

Garbage pickup: In Gulfport, Indian Rocks Beach, St. Petersburg and Treasure Island, Monday pickup will be on Tuesday, Tuesday pickup will be on Wednesday. In South Pasadena, Monday pickup will be on Tuesday. In Seminole, Monday pickup will be on the next regular pickup day. All other residential pickup schedules will remain the same. Residents who contract independently with Waste Services of Florida (572-6800), Waste Management (572-8779) or another collection company should call the company for holiday schedule information.

Other closings: Facilities closed Monday include the Coliseum, Mahaffey Theater, Boyd Hill Nature Park, Business Assistance Center, Municipal Services Center, St. Petersburg Police Community Resource Centers, City Utility Payment Center, Parking Citation Payment Office, Municipal Marina, Port of St. Petersburg business offices, Albert Whitted Airport business office, recreation and adult centers, the Sunshine Center, North Shore Pool, and Sunken Gardens business offices.

The Sunken Gardens attraction will be open.

For water or sewer emergencies, call the Water Resources Department, 893-7261.

For police, fire or medical emergencies, dial 911.
