USF vs. Wake Forest
By GREG AUMAN
Published December 29, 2006
TONIGHT: USF vs. Wake Forest When/where: 7; St. Pete Times Forum, Tampa. Records: Wake Forest 7-4, USF 7-5. TV/radio: ESPN2; 1250-AM. Notable: Wake Forest center Kyle Visser is the best low-post player the Bulls have faced this season, according to coach Robert McCullum. When McCullum was at Western Michigan four years ago, he heavily recruited Visser, who played in Grand Rapids. Tonight, Visser will be a major test for Bulls junior Kentrell Gransberry, who has three double doubles in his first five games. "I'm really encouraged by his play and his consistency," McCullum said. "When you basically know a guy can give you a double double, that's pretty darn good." ... Senior Chris Capko is expected to miss another two weeks, limiting USF's guard depth and pressing sophomore Jesus Verdejo into occasional minutes at point guard. ... USF won the only meeting between the schools, in the 1985 postseason NIT.
