The Brooksville Kiwanis K-Kids from Eastside Elementary School recently visited Tangerine Cove assisted living community to deliver pictures and treats to the residents.

The K-Kids enjoyed the outing as much as the residents. The children were chaperoned by advisers, Cindy Kinner and Kelly Slaga, in addition to several parents.

Parents of gifted children had a recent opportunity to listen to Dr. John Mike, noted child psychiatrist and author of Brilliant Babies, Powerful Adults.

Dr. Mike was a featured lecturer at Oak Hill Hospital during an event sponsored by the Gifted Children's Parents Association of Hernando County.

Dr. Mike also recently delivered a lecture to the Baha'i Community of Citrus County. He is soon to assume the position of headmaster of the Montessori School of Boca Raton.

Local residents of the Hernando County Baha'i Community, including Carol Newell and Lily Carson, have been studying Dr. Mike's book as well as Family Virtues Guide, a book written by Linda Popov, as part of a Baha'i Community outreach project. Carson is a child specialist who volunteers at the Boys & Girls Club of Hernando County. The two women were pleased to meet Dr. Mike in person at Oak Hill Hospital.

Notes of Thanks

There is a "Winter Wonderland" at Brooksville Healthcare Center on Chatman Boulevard for everyone to see. The trees are all lit up and it looks beautiful.

I am so grateful to all the staff for taking such good care of my mom, Mary Picone. The staff are the most loving, caring people I have ever met, making it so pleasant for all the residents.

It is true when they say Brooksville Healthcare Center you get a hug and a kiss and are treated like family.

Merry Christmas to all the staff and thank you all for being the people you are.
