Museum display: The Coastal Heritage Museum displays Crystal River's main collection of historical artifacts from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays at 532 Citrus Ave., Crystal River. Its gift shop offers items that represent the area's cultural heritage. Volunteers welcome, call Molly Johnson, 795-1755.

WEDNESDAY

See what's going on: at the Citrus County Community Centers. Most events and programs at the centers are free and open to the public, some require a small fee. Inverness offers two centers, the East Citrus Community Center is at 9907 E Gulf to Lake Highway State Road 44 E, call 344-9666; and the Inverness Community Center is at 1082 N Paul Drive, call 726-1009. The West Citrus Community Center is at 8940 W Veterans Drive, Homosassa, call 795-3831. The Central Citrus Community center is at 2804 Marc Knighton Court in Lecanto, call 527-5993.

Opening night: Playhouse 19, The Community Theatre of Citrus County Inc., presents The World Goes 'Round at 7:30 p.m, 871 N Suncoast Blvd., Crystal River. FRIDAY

Registration deadline for Walk-A-Weigh: 12-week program scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesdays begins Jan. 16 and 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays begins Jan. 18, Citrus County Extension Service, 3650 W Sovereign Path, Lecanto. Session includes exercise, brief presentation on health related topic, tasting session featuring treats related to the week's topic. Fee: $30, limited to 30 participants. SATURDAY

Author to sign books at library

Carol Bartolet, author of Favors, will speak at 12:30 p.m. at the Central Ridge Library, 425 Roosevelt Blvd, Beverly Hills. The book signing will include two readings from the book and time for questions. Free and open to the public.

SUNDAY

Jam session: Citrus Jazz Society jam session of jazz and Dixieland music starts at 1:30 p.m. in the Magnolia Room of the Plantation Inn, 9301 Fort Island Trail, Crystal River. Music will be provided by local members, dancing is encouraged. Donation: nonmembers $7. Call 795-9936.
