The Brookridge Woman's Club will have its annual Brookridge Bingo Bash on March 10 in the community clubhouse, 8150 Hampton St.
Doors open at 8:30 a.m.; the bash begins at 10 a.m. There will be a $3,200 payout. The cost for 52 games is $35, and includes a doughnut, coffee or ice tea, and a homemade hot lunch.

Jazz Society to host McMillion Orchestra
The Hernando Jazz Society will feature the Dan McMillion 16-piece Grammy-nominated orchestra from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Jan. 14 at the SNPJ Hall, 13383 County Line Road.
Cost is $3 for members, $7 for nonmembers. Light refreshments available. Bring your own beverage.

Kids can learn the basics of wrestling
The Spring Hill Youth Wrestling Club will teach the Fundamentals of Wrestling for sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at Springstead High School's wrestling room, 3300 Mariner Blvd.
Learn the fundamentals, including standing, top and bottom positions and pinning combinations. The season runs from December through May.

Lectures, field trip on tap in winter program
Academia Hernando has announced its winter program of eight lectures, titled "Other Cultures, Other Worlds."
With various times and locations, the series begins Jan. 22 with archaeological explorations in ancient Palestine and ends with the world of the galaxies and space explorations.
In between are lectures on Islam and the early European encounters with the American Indians, the South Africans and the Moors. The lecturers are all experts in their fields - practicing archaeologists, historians, astronomers and theologians. One free text will be distributed, and there will be a free bus trip to the Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota.
Due to the success of last year's program, the organization has expanded by four its governing board. All meetings are from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Mondays at Grace Presbyterian Church, 8375 Spring Hill Drive.
Subscriptions to the nine-event series eight lectures and one bus trip are $50. Individual lectures are $7. For information, call 799-5386.

Reception set for art exhibit at City Hall
A reception for the Brooksville City Hall Art Gallery's Winter Exhibit will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 31, 201 Howell Ave.
The Winter Exhibit runs through March 27 and features handmade quilts, pine-needle baskets and necklaces, paintings on wood by the Nature Coast Decorative Artists, photographs from the Spring Hill Camera Club and a new exhibit of poetry from members of Just Poets.
Artists include Carol Kreider, J. Nell Bliss, Chuck L. Russo, Mary Berryman, Crystene Gaona, Klaus Schuette and David Rivera.

Adult literacy program seeks volunteer tutors
The HEART Adult Literacy Program needs volunteer tutors to teach adults reading, language and math skills.
A training class will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 9 at 801 N Broad St. There will be a one-hour break for lunch.

Western theme ball aids Cancer Society
Tickets are available to the Cattle Barons' Ball 2007 to benefit the American Cancer Society. The event will be at 6 p.m. Jan. 26 at Silverthorn Country Club, 4550 Golf Club Lane.
The theme will be a western party featuring entertainment, competitive games, food and silent and live auctions.
Tickets are $100. A campfire table host sponsorship, which includes a table seating 10, is $1,000 and entitles the host to amenities such as preferred seating for guests, a number of complimentary beverages and society partnering opportunities.
