Here's a tip: When Will the canine cop is on the make, get out of his way. Largo police Officer Tony Citrano has the bite to prove it. About midnight Thursday, Largo authorities responded to a traffic stop on Belcher Road, just south of Ulmerton Road. Officer Jason Misner and his police dog, Will, were requested at the scene because there was an odor of marijuana emanating from the car. Shortly after being stopped, the driver, Anthony Cornette, 35, fled the scene on foot with three officers on his heels. That's when Misner released Will. All of the officers who were chasing Cornette stopped, except Citrano. Will bit the officer in the calf before taking off after the real culprit. The dog finally stopped Cornette on Belcher Road. Cornette of West Palm Beach was arrested on drug charges. Authorities found several ounces of cocaine, crack and marijuana in his vehicle, as well as methamphetamine pills. Citrano will stay home for the next couple of days while recuperating from the bite, authorities said.
