Epiphany is an ancient Greek Orthodox ceremony commemorating Christ's baptism in the Jordan River. A cross is tossed into the water, and the diver to retrieve it receives a blessing. On Saturday, the 101st Epiphany celebration, that was Michael Xipolitas. The 18-year-old beat 51 other divers to emerge from Spring Bayou in Tarpon Springs with the cross. Police estimated about 20,000 onlookers attended.
