NEW PORT RICHEY - A third person has been arrested in the theft of a safe that held $10,000 in cash and nearly $30,000 in jewelry.

Kenneth James Ottmann, 31, helped Paige Gruzlewski, 24, remove the safe from a home in Golden Acres on Dec. 28, the Sheriff's Office said. Ottmann also helped another man, 33-year-old Richard Forrest, put the safe into a vehicle after the theft, the arrest report said.

The safe, it turns out, belongs to Gruzlewski's parents, who were at the movies at the time of the crime.

The parents returned near the end of the burglary, too late to stop the two men but just in time to catch their daughter, a separate arrest report said.
