Bo Lozoff to Appear: The spiritual leader and author of We're All Doing Time will be at the Lotus Room Yoga Studio. There will be a free meeting and benefit concert from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. today and Saturday. The studio is at 1101 W Kennedy Blvd. Call 727 505-6668.

Buddhist Meditation: American Buddhist teacher France Roy will teach the class "Opening the Heart" from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday. Weekly classes include an introduction to meditation from the Kadampa Buddhist tradition and two guided meditations, suitable for beginners. Classes are at Tampa Unity Church, 3302 W Horatio St. The church does not endorse the event. The suggested donation is $9, or $5 for students and those with limited income. Call (727) 797-9770.

Mindfulness Meditation: Steve Shealy, Ph.D., will present "Mindfulness Meditation: an Experiential Introduction" from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. The event will be at the Lotus Room Yoga Studio, 1101 W Kennedy Blvd. Mental health professionals will get two free continuing education units. Donations will be accepted. Call (813) 980-2700.

Praise and Worship Coffee House: All age groups are invited to Open Mic Night at Shoresh David Messianic Synagogue. The free event is at 7 p.m. Tuesdays and 6 p.m. Saturdays. Bring sheet music, instruments and baked goods. The coffee house provides a place to hone music skills, gain performance experience or simply worship God in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The synagogue is at 4320 Bay to Bay Blvd. Call (813) 831-5673.

Hebrew Lessons: Shoresh David Messianic Synagogue, 4320 Bay to Bay Blvd., will offer Hebrew lessons. Israeli-born Michael Michael will teach 10 weeks of Easy Beginners Hebrew and Basic Conversational Hebrew at 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. starting Jan. 20 through March 24. Beginners will learn how to recognize and sound out Hebrew letters and read Hebrew upon completion in the 3 p.m. Easy Beginners Hebrew class. The Basic Conversational Hebrew class will begin at 4:30 p.m. Michael is certified in Hebrew instruction. The cost is $40 and covers instruction, class materials and a Hebrew study book to keep.
