Picking up a new 'Hitcher'

The Hitcher (R) is a retread of a 1986 terror trip that made a star of Rutger Hauer, playing a sociopath on a cross country killing rampage. Okay, maybe "star" isn't the right word for what Hauer did with his career, but he has been more visible than his cast mate, C. Thomas Howell.

Lord of the Rings trilogy hero Sean Bean takes on Hauer's role as John Ryder, whose modus operandi begins with a raised thumb and ends in bloodshed. Zachary Knighton gets Howell's role as a college student heading for spring break with his girlfriend (Sophia Bush) when a good deed turns bad.

They manage to escape Ryder's violence, then are framed for his murders. Ryder stalks them to ensure they won't tell the truth.

Rogue Pictures didn't make The Hitcher available for screening in time for Weekend review.

If The Hitcher wasn't available for screening in time for a weekend review, then how can you give it an "F" rating? Shouldn't you see it the movie before you give your thoughts on it?
