Underdog comedy at the Improv

A comedian for 18 years, Dave Attell is the host and writer of Comedy Central's Insomniac with Dave Attell, a popular travelogue of after-hours haunts in cities across the country.

Though ripe for the picking, Attell clearly likes the underdogs he hangs out with in the wee hours, and that blue, slightly imbalanced world makes up his comedy.

He plays the Tampa Improv at 8 and 10 p.m. Friday, 7:30 and 10 p.m. Saturday and 7 p.m. Sunday, 1600 E Eighth Ave., Centro Ybor. Tickets are $25 at (813) 864-4000 or www.improvtampa.com.
