Library book store clearance: The Friends of the Upper Tampa Bay Regional Library Gazebo Book Store will have a clearance sale. ESOL tutor training class: People age 18 or older with a high school diploma or the equivalent and interested in teaching English as a Second Language can take the class. The nine-hour class will be offered by the Hillsborough Literacy Council from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the North Tampa Branch Library, 8916 North Boulevard. The cost is $30; all materials provided. Sign with your baby: The New Tampa Regional Public Library is offering the program at 10 a.m. Learn to stimulate your baby's mental development and language skills by learning to sign together. Telephone equipment distribution: Florida Telecommunications Relay will provide free specialized equipment and training to qualified Florida residents. LOOKING AHEAD

Lunch and Learn Series: The University of South Florida's Learning In Retirement Program will begin at 12:15 p.m. Jan. 26. The free brown-bag lecture series is sponsored by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at USF for older adults. Award-winning meteorologist Roy Leep will speak on the topic "A Life In Meteorology." Leep, a Tampa Bay icon, worked at WTVT for over 40 years. Free one-day parking passes are available to Osher members and guests attending the event. Registration requested by Wednesday.

Scrapbook crop workshop: The event will be offered by Incarnation Parish Home and School Association. The cost for the all-day event is $35 if paid by Jan. 31, $40 after that date. The nonprofit event is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. March 10 at Incarnation Catholic School. The fee includes entry in the door-prize drawings, goodie bag, three meals, beverages and snacks throughout the day. Summer intern program: College undergraduates and college-bound high school graduates are encouraged to apply for the program by Feb. 15. H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute at USF is accepting applications for its 2007 Summer Program for the Advancement of Research Knowledge. Students pursuing a career in biomedical science are eligible for this opportunity to contribute to the prevention and cure of cancer.
