HOLIDAY - Authorities are looking for witnesses to a three-car collision on U.S. 19 Friday that left a 62-year-old woman dead. The Florida Highway Patrol said Oknan Ziegler of Holiday was killed after exiting the driveway of a Salvation Army store in her 2001 Toyota. She crossed southbound U.S. 19, pulling in front of two speeding cars, one driving right behind the other, around 10:29 a.m., according to a patrol report. A 1991 Honda driven by Justin Tanoff, 18, of New Port Richey smashed into the driver's side of Ziegler's car, the report said. Tanoff's car spun and was struck on the left by the car behind it, a 1997 Honda driven by Aaron Kukla, 20, of Holiday, the report said. Ziegler was wearing her seat belt. Tanoff, who also wore his seat belt, was flown to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg where he was reported in fair condition. Kukla was not wearing a seat belt, and his condition at Community Hospital New Port Richey was unavailable Friday evening. Charges could be pending. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact Cpl. Erik Bromiley at (800) 235-6019.
