Suspect released after talk with deputies

TAMPA
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office found the man they suspected of shooting a 62-year-old Valrico man during a home invasion but released him from custody and rescinded his warrants after an interview.
The Sheriff's Office issued a warrant for Luis Coronado Jr. on Thursday, three days after Edward Waldon was shot three times in the face.
Coronado, 32, was wanted on charges of attempted murder and two counts of home invasion - one for last week's incident and another for a robbery in May against the same man.
Coronado was found Friday at a family member's house, sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said, but was released after speaking to investigators. Carter said she could not discuss the interview.
Waldon was in his mobile home, 724 Mulrennan Road, Lot 6, before noon Jan. 15 when two men kicked in his door and tried to rob him at gunpoint.
One of the men shot Waldon during a struggle. One bullet went behind his left ear, another in his forehead.

Iraq blast kills soldier from North Florida
A soldier from Jacksonville died during combat operations in Iraq, the Department of Defense said Sunday.
Spc. William J. Rechenmacher, 24, died Thursday in Baghdad when an improvised explosive device detonated, the department said.
Rechenmacher was assigned to the 1st Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas, the department said.
No other details were immediately available. A telephone message left at Fort Hood was not immediately returned Sunday night.

Man's body found in charred mobile home
A 47-year-old man was found dead in his bedroom Sunday morning after a fire heavily damaged his mobile home.
The body of Frank E. Wakefield was discovered by Pasco County firefighters as they worked to control the flames coming from his home at Lakewood Travel Park, which is off State Road 52.
The cause of the fire was under investigation, but authorities have seen nothing to suggest that it was deliberately set, Fire Marshal Larry Whitten said.
Neighbors called 911 shortly before 9 a.m. Sunday to report the fire. Wakefield lived alone, park manager Cristy Simpson said.
