HUDSON - Pasco remained unbeaten and clinched a fourth straight playoff berth with Wednesday's 7-2 district semifinal win over Hudson.

The three-time district champion Pirates 18-0-2 try to make it four in a row Friday in the title game against Springstead, a 2-0 winner over Gulf.

"We'll take whatever comes our way," Pasco coach Barry Grayling said. "We're looking the same like we were last year."

The Pirates, state semifinalists last season, have a different look up front with Ramon Rodriguez leading the offense. The freshman forward scored twice on headers and has a team-high 31 goals.

Joe Montelongo, Pasco's scoring leader last season, scored his 28th goal and had an assist.

Eric Manning, Roberto Cervantes, Alex Hollander and Trent Sumner also scored for the Pirates.

Trailing 3-0, Hudson (10-12-2) got on the board in the 18th minute when Scotty Combs scored on a nice spin move near the left post for his team-leading 26th goal. Hudson's Taylor Lamphier blasted a shot inside the right post past backup Pasco keeper Jacob Pollock to close out scoring.

Springstead (13-2-5) got goals from McKenzie Olivares and Preston Shutts against Gulf (10-6-4) to set up a rematch of last season's district final. Pasco won that game 3-2 in overtime.
