There were two perfect games in Hernando County last week, both at Spring Hill Lanes.

Adam Butters shot his first perfect game of the season after tossing one in 2005-06 while Mike Morrison shot his first career 300.

Butters, a regular in the TGIF League, shot 771 to go with his 300. The series was good for third overall in the county for the week. He participates in the Gator High Rollers League, Sunday Youth/Adult League and Joni Classic League.

Morrison, who snatched his 300 in the Thursday Night Mixed League, summed a scratch series of 717. He averaged a 214 in 2005-06 in the same league. He also competes in the Tuesday Night Men's Handicap League at Mariner Lanes.

LOVE ON THE LANES: Every year as Valentine's Day approaches, the two centers in Spring Hill organize scotch doubles tournaments. Scotch doubles formats are outlined by two bowlers alternating shots for four games. Spring Hill Lanes is holding the Cupid Scotch Doubles Tournament Feb. 11 at 1 p.m.

The cost is $18 per duo. Handicaps will be based on 90 percent of 220 with averages taken from the 2005-06 USBC yearbook.

Mariner Lanes holds the Sweetheart Scotch Doubles on Feb. 11 at 1 p.m. Entry fees are $20 per couple. The same handicap rules apply.

FLORIDA STATE SENIORS: With one week remaining, the Florida State Senior Bowling Association Championship is drawing to a close at Spring Hill Lanes.

As of the standings released Jan. 21, Hernando County's Lou Spadaro was among those to cash out in the singles handicap competition for the 65-69 age division. He finished with a 680 series to tie with Fred Hesketh of the Panama City B.A. and Nathaniel Powell of the Greater Tampa B.A. as the final entrants to win money in that division.
