TEMPLE TERRACE - Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies, detectives, K-9 dogs and other patrol units canvassed an area of Temple Terrace in search of a mentally ill man who disappeared early Thursday morning.

Hours later, they discovered that Tampa police had already picked up the man shortly after his disappearance and took him to St. Joseph's Hospital to get checked out.

David Ciesielski, 53, walked away from his living facility at 5308 Martin Lane and was reported missing around 5:30 a.m., deputies said.

He was considered endangered and deputies began a wide-ranging, hourslong search for him around areas of southeast Temple Terrace.

They later discovered that police found Ciesielski around 7 a.m. and took him to the hospital. His condition was unavailable late Thursday.
