Class 6A, District 8 at Mitchell Countryside (25-0-1) vs. Alonso (16-4-2). Countryside squeaked past host Mitchell, knocking out the lone Pasco County school in this district. And Alonso, a talented sixth seed, proved any team in arguably the toughest district in the state had a shot to reach the tournament final. If you're looking to see a great high school soccer game, head out to Mitchell tonight. Class 5A, District 7 at Land O'Lakes Wesley Chapel (12-5-2) vs. Land O'Lakes (19-4-2). These teams blew out their opponents in the semifinals, each with shutout victories. The Wildcats' 5-0 win over Central came on a second-half adjustment, moving Daniel Valdez to the front line, which led to five unanswered goals. Land O'Lakes got three goals from leading scorer Louis Falcon and looked at its highest level in a 7-0 victory against River Ridge. This is a grudge match for the Gators, who allowed two second-half goals in a 3-3 draw in their last meeting with the Wildcats. They also won the first match 4-1. Class 4A, District 8 at Hudson Pasco (18-0-2) vs. Springstead (13-2-5). Pasco will get to defend its 2006 district title and has reached the state tournament for the fourth consecutive season. The Pirates advanced with a 7-2 win over host Hudson on Wednesday. Scoring weapons Ramon Rodriquez and Jose Montelongo seem to be clicking at the right time. Springstead will try to avenge its 3-2 overtime loss to Pasco in last season's district tournament final. Class 2A, District 9 at Tampa Prep Bishop McLaughlin (13-4) vs. Tampa Prep (20-2-2). Bishop McLaughlin advanced to its first district tournament final and first state tournament berth with a 3-0 upset of Cambridge. The Hurricanes face Tampa Prep, which beat Hernando Christian 8-0 and defeated Bishop McLaughlin 4-0 earlier this season. Izzy Gould, Times staff writer Cost is $5. All games start 7 p.m.
