RUMMAGE, PASTRY SALE: The St. Michael's Greek Orthodox Church Ladies Philoptochos Annual Rummage and Greek Pastry Sale will be 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today. The church is at 4705 W Gulf to Lake Highway, Lecanto.

DRAMA PROGRAM: Trevor Thomas, "Mr. Drama," will perform at 6 p.m. today at Cornerstone Baptist, 1005 Hillside Court, Inverness. Thomas combines music, monologues, poems, sketches and mime to create a worship experience for the believer and a picture of salvation for the lost. Call 726-7335.

CHICKEN DINNER: There will be a complete chicken biscuit dinner sponsored by Floral City Methodist Church, 8478 E Marvin St., from 3:30 to 6 p.m. today. Carry-out service is available. Donation is $7.

The church has begun a Kids Club from 4 to 6 p.m. Sundays, open to children kindergarten through sixth grade. A light supper is after the activities. Call 344-1771.

RUMMAGE SALE: St. Anne's Episcopal, 9870 W Fort Island Trail, Crystal River, will have a rummage sale 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 3. Call 795-2176.

COMMUNITY OPEN HOUSE: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will host an open house for the community from 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 9, 3474 W Southern St., Lecanto. President Steven K. Zabriskie will speak on "Our Lord's Great Plan of Happiness." Visual displays will illustrate church activities. The Family History Center will be open for those interested in learning about genealogy. Light refreshments will be offered. Call Harry Howard at 726-6923.

SIGN LANGUAGE CLASS: Central Florida Community College, 3800 S Lecanto Highway, Lecanto, will offer the course "Religious Songs in Sign Language" 4 to 6 p.m. Feb. 6 through March 27 in Building L2, Room 201A. The fee is $50. A book will be available for $35. Call (352) 249-1210.

TAG SALE: Good Shepherd Lutheran, 439 E Norvell Bryant Highway, Hernando, will host a tag sale for the benefit of Habitat for Humanity 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. (or until sold out) on Feb. 3. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

YARD SALE DONATIONS: Church Without Walls is asking for donations for a yard sale fundraiser. Proceeds will go to the Feed the Hungry and other support ministries.

The church is also hosting a golf fundraiser at 8:30 a.m. April 14 at Citrus Hills Golf Club. If you, your business or your organization would like to make a tax-deductible contribution as a hole sponsor of $50 or more, call 344-2425. Donations or gifts to be auctioned are also welcome.

CHURCH RETREAT: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church of Citrus Springs will host a parish mission conducted by the Very Rev. Father Dennis M. Corrado Feb. 3-7. The retreat is on forgiveness. For times and to register, call 352-489-4889.

Chuches should not be 'a house of "business" but one of tithing and care for those in needs of the less blessed. Try it and observe the truth of the great teacher-JESUS
