Man accused of perscription drug sales

Investigators have accused a 53-year-old Tampa man of illegally selling prescription drugs. Alfred C. Curry of 7512 E 21st Ave. was arrested Thursday evening on charges of trafficking in hydrocodone and possession of Alprazolam, jail records show. Deputies found a stash of prescription drugs, as well as oxycodone and drug paraphernalia at his home, according to the Hillsborough Sheriff's Office. He was held at the Hillsborough County jail Friday afternoon on $4,500 bail.

Paint analyzed from fatal July 9 hit-run

Six months after Jose Vincente Gomez died in a hit-and-run, deputies continue to seek public help. Gomez, 50, of Temple Terrace was found on 15th Street north of 128th Avenue at 12:30 p.m. on July 9. He had been and dragged about 100 feet, detectives say. Sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said paint analysis suggests the vehicle was a 1995 to 1996 Chevrolet Camaro or Pontiac Firebird, metallic blue-green with possible front end damage. Man shot in chest in his driveway

A 33-year-old man was shot in his chest about 1 p.m. Friday. Nestor Carlos Cintron Jr. of 6740 Ralston Beach Circle was in his driveway when two men in ski masks pulled up in a Ford pickup, a sheriff's spokeswoman said. Cintron was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he was treated and released, a hospital official said. The men, believed to be white, fled in the truck - possibly an F-250, four-door crew cab with dark windows and a red, white and blue Florida plate, Carter said. Abortion called cause of wife's beating

A man told authorities that he tried to kill his wife because she had hidden a pregnancy from him and had an abortion. Robert N. Moore, 37, of Floral City, was arrested Thursday night on a felony charge of attempted murder after knocking his wife to the floor and stomping on her head, according to a Citrus sheriff's deputy arrest report. He is being held at the Citrus County Detention Center. No bond was set. His wife, Angela Moore, 29, suffered severe head trauma. She was flown to Tampa General Hospital, where she remained in critical condition Friday.
