INVERNESS - Deputies responded to a street fight Saturday and found two injured men, one with a broken ankle and another with a broken jaw.
Anthony Joseph Hatten , 25, 2510 E Silver St., was arrested on charges of battery. Erwin Herman Ziegler IV, 22, 6751 W Van Buren St., Homosassa, was also charged with battery. Joseph Michael Boule, 23, 2626 Mary Lou St., was charged with felony battery.
According to a victim and witnesses, Boule struck one victim, then asked him how it felt to be hit with a set of brass knuckles, the arrest report said. In addition to the broken ankle, the victim had cuts to his face, the report said. The victims were not identified in the incident report.
Deputies were not able to find any brass knuckles or weapons at the scene, but Boule and Hatten left the area after the fight, the report said. Ziegler was arrested after deputies found him hiding in the house, the report said.
The second victim, who had a broken jaw, said he didn't know who struck him, but remembers being knocked out, the report said. Several witnesses told deputies that Ziegler struck the second victim, causing his injuries. Other witnesses said that Hatten struck both victims during the fight.
The fight started outside a residence at 1900 Addison St. about 2:30 a.m. The man with the broken ankle told deputies he went there to retrieve his daughter's camera.
Both injured men were treated and released from Citrus Memorial Health Systems hospital.
The three arrested men posted bail and were released.
