And the SAC goes to... The Ridgewood boys basketball team completed its conference schedule Wednesday with a 70-30 victory at Hudson, officially wrapping up the Sunshine Athletic Conference title. The Rams (20-3) play at Pasco tonight, but only the Jan. 11 game, which Ridgewood won 76-54, counts toward the conference record. The only conference teams close to up-ending the Rams were Mitchell on opening night (48-46), Land O'Lakes on Dec. 8, (57-55), Wesley Chapel (57-53) on Jan. 23. While we're at it, the Class 5A, District 7 top seed goes to... Ridgewood officially claimed the top district seed with the Jan. 23 win against the Wildcats. The Rams finished the district schedule undefeated, though district tournament games count toward the regular season, meaning they're still a few more wins from truly clinching an undefeated district record.
