COUNTYWIDE In addition to doctor's offices, walk-in clinics and stores, you can get a flu vaccine shot from a Pinellas County Health Department center at: - Largo, 12420 130th Ave. N, 727 588-4040. - Clearwater, 310 N Myrtle Ave., (727) 469-5800 - Pinellas Park, 6350 76th Ave. N, (727) 547-7780. - St. Petersburg, 205 Dr. Martin Luther King St. N, (727) 824-6900. - Tarpon Springs, 301 S Disston Ave., (727) 942-5457. Call ahead to check on hours and availability. Flu shots at the Health Department cost $25. Pneumonia vaccines are available for $34. Bring your Medicare card, health insurance cards and a photo ID if paying by check or credit card. Health officials recommend flu shots for everyone this year, especially those 50 and older; residents and staffers at long-term care facilities; patients with chronic medical conditions; children 6 months to 5 years old; pregnant women; health care personnel; and anyone caring for children younger than 6 months old. CLEARWATER Foundation seeks volunteers for kids Become a garden volunteer for fourth- and fifth-graders at the Modesta Robbins Partnership School at Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf Club, 3030 N McMullen-Booth Road. CLEARWATER Red Cross seeking volunteer drivers The Clearwater Red Cross is seeking volunteer drivers and dispatchers to operate its Transportation Program in North Pinellas, based at 2481 Sunset Point Road. Drivers and dispatchers are needed to fill assignments from 7:30 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday. Volunteer drivers will use Red Cross vehicles to drive those who have no other means of getting to critical medical and dental appointments. COUNTYWIDE Junior Achievement seeks volunteers Junior Achievement of West Central Florida is seeking volunteers for the 2006-07 school year. Junior Achievement offers programs from kindergarten through 12th grade, and it teaches young people about business, economics and free enterprise.
