Master gardener to give tips on camellias

The Land O'Lakes Garden Club will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Land O'Lakes Community Center, 5401 Land O'Lakes Blvd. Master gardener Eileen Hart will discuss the growing and care of camellias. Members are asked to bring donations of paper goods or non-perishable items for Christian Social Services. Hosts are Alice Petriello, Marge Vanyur, Joe Vanyur and Vi Peterson. LAND O'LAKES Recreation Complex offers yoga, painting Watercolor painting classes are offered by Bob McAnespie from 9 a.m. to noon Thursdays at the Land O'Lakes Recreation Complex, 3032 Collier Parkway in Land O'Lakes. Cost is $10 per class. Yoga classes are also offered at the complex from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays. Cost is $7 per class and classes, for ages 16 and older, are taught by a certified Yoga instructor. Chamber breakfast, clay shoot coming up The Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce monthly chamber breakfast is at 8 a.m. Tuesday at Lexington Oaks Golf Club, 26140 Lexington Oaks Blvd., Wesley Chapel. Breakfast is free to chamber members and $10 for others. The speaker, from the Pasco County Sheriff's Crime Prevention Unit, will talk about identity theft. Shotgun start is at 9 a.m. with four member teams with 50 targets per person. Doughnuts and coffee will be served for breakfast. Lunch is provided. There will be awards for top shooters and teams. Individual fee is $100 and team member entry fee is $400. Sponsorships are available. A portion of these years' proceeds will benefit scholarships for high school students and Sunrise of Pasco. Card party to benefit Shrine Hospital The Ladies of the Oriental Shrine of North America card party is at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Bahr's Mobile Home Park recreation hall, on County Line 54 East in Zephyrhills. Karate classes teach self-defense The Pasco County Parks and Recreation Department and the James Irvin Civic Center present Karate Class. Trimm No Shin is a blend of karate and weaponry that blends Okinawan karate and tradition with American practicality. The self-defense techniques work for everyone regardless of age, size, shape or gender. The class will be taught by sensei Mary Tuesink, a certified black belt instructor who was inducted into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame in May. The program begins today at the James Irvin Civic Center, 38122 Martin Luther King Blvd. Cost is $30 for first family member and $15 for each additional family member. Center offers free fitness on Feb. 22 Ingram's Karate Center, in conjunction with the Pasco County Health Department, is participating in Step Up Florida-On Our Way to Healthy Living, a statewide, one-week initiative to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles. The center, 4116 Little Road, New Port Richey, will replace its regular Thursday night classes on Feb. 22 with special free karate and fitness classes designed to introduce participants to the benefits of karate and exercise.
