Library's pedometers help get you moving

The Hernando County Public Library System has partnered with the county Health Department to promote the Florida On the Move program.

Library cardholders can check out a pedometer at any branch. A limited number of pedometers are available and can be checked out for eight weeks.

The library also offers free Internet access to track one's progress. Information on the statewide program is available at www.floridaonthe move.org.

For information on the availability of pedometers, stop by or call any branch library. For information on the Florida On the Move program, call the Health Department at 540-6800, ext. 82072.

BROOKSVILLE

Register now for Chinsegut run, walk

Registration is under way for the 11th annual Chinsegut Run and Fun Walk, which will be Saturday at Chinsegut Nature Center, 23212 Lake Lindsey Road.

The entry fee is $15 for the 5K and $10 for the fun walk. The race will be along a path on the nature center grounds.

On event day, packet pickup and late registration will be at 7:30 a.m. The 5K will start at 8:30 a.m., and the fun walk will begin at 8:35 a.m. Handcrafted awards will be presented. All entrants will receive a T-shirt.
