BELLEAIR - When a neighbor's Super Bowl party grew too loud, attorney Robert G. Walker took matters into his own hands, authorities said.

Walker, 59, was wielding a handgun when he approached two men standing outside 210 Park Road about 10:45 p.m. Sunday. According to a report by Belleair police, the men, who were among about 30 guests at a Super Bowl party, said Walker pointed the gun at their chests and said, "I am tired of this s---."

They wrestled Walker to the ground, twisting the gun out of his hand, and a single shot was accidentally discharged in the process, the two men told police.

Belleair police Chief Tom Edwards said Walker disputed their account, saying that he did not aim at the two men, but instead fired a shot into the ground intending to scare them.

Attempts to reach Walker, a former police officer, prosecutor and assistant city attorney for Clearwater, on Monday were not successful.

Walker was arrested and booked into the Pinellas County Jail just after midnight on charges of attempted murder and using a firearm while under the influence of alcohol. Before sunrise, he was released on $50,500 bail.

Good for him. People have no respect for their neighbors anymore. People shut up and go inside.
