A Polish soup to savor

Sal Cascio wanted a recipe for Polish sauerkraut soup. A.L. Piotrowski shares a recipe she hopes Sal will enjoy. SOUP Sauerkraut Soup For: Sal Cascio of Largo From: A.L. Piotrowski of Clearwater 1 pound sauerkraut 6 cups beef broth 1/4 pound bacon, diced 1 large onion, diced 2 tablespoons instant flour 3 tablespoons cold water Salt and pepper Boiled potatoes - Rinse the sauerkraut with cold water and cut up finely. Cook in a small amount of boiling water for a few minutes. Cover, reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Add the broth. - Fry the bacon with the onions until golden. -Mix flour with 3 tablespoons cold water. Add bacon mixture and flour mixture to the soup and bring to a boil. Season with salt and pepper. - Serve with boiled potatoes. Recipe requests Norma Brown is looking for a vegetable lasagna recipe with a white sauce. Every Wednesday I bring up the Times Taste section. You have one of the best I have every read. We usually spent winters in Fl but not this year. Keep up the good work. You always have lots of good articles.
