Mark Saturday as a dog day afternoon, because pooches of all pedigrees will be strutting their stuff at the Mardi Party for Pups and competing in the BOWser Games in Dunedin.

The Mardi Gras-style parade and party for costumed four-legged pets (and their owners) will be from 8 to 11 a.m. at Pioneer Park, Main Street and Douglas Avenue. The BOWser Games, sponsored by the by Pinellas Animal Foundation, will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the nearby Highlander Park at Michigan Boulevard and Pinehurst Road in Dunedin. The games include disc and agility demonstrations, contests and animal-related vendors. Both are free.
