Man jailed in sexual battery, home invasion

TAMPA - A 24-year-old Tampa man was behind bars Friday night on charges of armed sexual battery, home invasion and robbery.

Theodore Wallace, 24, and another man are accused of forcing their way into a home at Canterbury Apartments, 1250 Skipper Rd. Thursday at 8:35 p.m., sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.

The suspects first approached a 22-year-old man and robbed him of jewelry outside the apartment, then forced their way inside, where, deputies said, a 22-year-old woman was sexually assaulted.

Investigators located Wallace, 7817 Whittier St., on Friday and the victims picked him out of a photo pack, Carter said. He was being held without bail at Orient Road Jail.

Deputies are still seeking a second suspect, who they said had been wearing a mask and all dark brown colored clothing. Anyone with information is asked to call (813) 247-8200 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-873-8477.
