A Palm Harbor woman injured when a car veered onto the sidewalk in front of a thrift store last month has died at Tampa General Hospital. Lillian Wright, 79, died Thursday, according to the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office. Her husband, Donald Wright, 82, remained in critical condition at the hospital Friday. A third pedestrian, 92-year-old Amelia McBride, died Jan. 23, the day of the accident. The three were hit as Sandra K. Burns, 69, of Trinity was trying to leave the Tarpon Plaza shopping center at 780 S Pinellas Ave., police said. Burns backed up and veered onto the sidewalk outside the Hospice Thrift Shop. An investigation is continuing. Woman accused of attempted murder A man who authorities say was shot by his girlfriend during a fight Thursday was in fair condition Friday. John T. Brown and Stephanie Rose Chiavarelli share an apartment in the 2800 block of Thaxton Drive, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. Brown, 27, came home Thursday afternoon and took a shower. Chiavarelli, 27, went through his clothes and found what she thought was another woman's telephone number, sheriff's officials said. About 4:50 p.m., the couple got into a physical fight and Brown tried to leave the room. Chiavarelli got a small-caliber handgun from under a mattress and shot him once in the left shoulder, authorities said. He was flown to Bayfront Medical Center. Chiavarelli called for help, remained at the scene and was arrested at 10:30 p.m. on one count of attempted murder. Chiavarelli remained in the Pinellas jail Friday without bail.
