The trial of the man accused of killing Jessica Lunsford will begin Monday with jury selection in Miami after a judge denied last-minute attempts by defense attorneys to force a delay.

Circuit Judge Ric Howard on Friday rejected another request for a continuance made by John Couey's attorneys.

Couey is charged with kidnapping, raping and killing the 9-year-old Homosassa girl in 2005.

Neo-Nazi gets date for his murder trial

Neo-Nazi John Allen Ditullio Jr. wanted to represent himself against charges of first-degree murder and attempted murder and got his wish.

Now he has a trial date: April 2. Ditullio refused to waive his right to a speedy trial Friday, leaving Circuit Judge Thane Covert no choice but to schedule the trial within 175 days of his arrest.

Authorities say Kristofer King and Patricia Wells were attacked by a knife-wielding assailant on March 23, 2006. King, 17, died.
