2 men accused in theft of copper wiring

TWO MEN WERE CHARGED MONDAY WITH STEALING COPPER WIRING FROM INSIDE A NUMBER OF BUILDINGS AT AN ABANDONED PLANT NURSERY. THE BURGLARIES HAPPENED AT 17300 POWELL ROAD. THE HERNANDO SHERIFF'S OFFICE CHARGED JONATHAN PECK, 28, WHO WAS LISTED AS A TRANSIENT, WITH FIVE COUNTS OF BURGLARY, AND GREGORY DEAN, 37, OF 7036 MERTAL ST. IN SPRING HILL, WITH FIVE COUNTS OF BURGLARY AND ONE LITTER LAW VIOLATION. THE ARREST REPORT SAID THAT WHEN DEAN WAS CAUGHT, HE WAS BURNING THE INSULATION OFF THE COPPER WIRE BECAUSE IT MADE IT EASIER TO RESELL. Correction The Kiwanis Club of Spring Hill operated the food court at the Southeast Area Rally of the Family Motor Coach Association. The name of the organization was incorrect in a story published Monday.
