School Board will recognize volunteers

The Pinellas County School Board will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the district administration building, 301 Fourth St. SW, Largo.

Ten volunteers will be honored at the meeting. Other items on the agenda include: a request for approval of proposed realignment of services, which will create three new positions and reclassify others; and a request for second approval of a resolution that will allow the School Board to retain exclusive authority over granting county charter schools.

The meeting will be televised at 6 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays for two weeks after the meeting date on WPDS-Ch. 14, which also appears on Knology Ch. 14 and Bright House Networks Ch. 14. The public is invited to attend.

School's spring fair to have carnival rides

The Transfiguration Catholic School Spring Fair will be Feb. 22-25 at the school, 4000 43rd St. N, St. Petersburg. The festival will include carnival rides, food, crafts, a rummage sale and live entertainment. A fish fry will be held Feb. 23, and a raffle drawing with a grand prize of $2,500 will be held Feb. 25. Hours are 5 to 11 p.m. Feb. 22-23, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Feb. 24, and noon to 8 p.m. Feb. 25. Tickets at the door are $1, or 50 cents if bought in advance at the school until 5 p.m. Feb. 22. Advance armbands are $45. For information, call 527-2880.
