The final countdown

LAND O'LAKES

The cap and gown photo shoot. It's just another milestone along with the donning of those class rings that were distributed last week at Land O'Lakes High.

Add them to the senior year laundry list that includes tending to such things as the SAT, ACT, FCAT re-takes and senior project time lines all while fighting off the urge to blow it off and succumb to a case of "senioritis." (Note to LOL seniors: Senior project final portfolios are due Feb. 28.)

There's career and college planning that comes with the filling out of job, college and financial aid applications, writing those all-important essays and hitting up favored mentors for letters of reference.

Yearbook pictures and profiles are already crossed off, but senior prom, grad night and the ordering of those all-important graduation invitations and announcements to be sent to the folks living out-of-state and, finally, the commencement ceremony (11 a.m. May 26 at the USF Sun Dome for Land O'Lakes seniors) are all yet to come.
