Last month, we went three consecutive days with no mail delivery. Has that occurred before?

Sunday, Dec. 31, followed by the Jan. 1 holiday, and the ensuing national day of mourning for President Gerald Ford combined to create the longest "no mail delivery" period in anyone's memory. U.S. Postal Service spokesman Michael Miles said he could find no evidence of any other three-day period of no mail delivery.
