ST. PETERSBURG - There is an air of inevitability to this game. The bracket builders planned it. Fans wanted it. The players anticipated it. They all got it. St. Petersburg Catholic, a state finalist last season, plays district foe Academy of the Holy Names for the fifth time this season tonight at 7. "We don't like them. They don't like us," Barons coach Nick Vandewalle said. "But we respect them. Hopefully, they respect us." SPC has won three of the first four meetings, including the district final in which Sasha Chaplin grabbed a school-record 31 rebounds. At 6-foot-3, Chaplin towers over the Jaguars, holding a size advantage of at least 5 feet. SPC's biggest matchup, though, is making sure its guards hit open jumpers and are patient in finding Chaplin under the basket. The Barons also are expecting physical play, a lot of tense moments and a major test. A playoff game against AHN has never been any other way.
