Will Rays' fake grass be scene of real wins?

New FieldTurf at Tropicana Field gets its finishing touches Wednesday. Crews applied sand on top of the turf and then recycled rubber on top of that, after which they'll work the layers down into the turf and the new, stiffer "blades" will stand up.

First, the reveal. Now, the unveil. Tampa Theatre has been chosen as the location for the Tate family's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition watching party in two weeks. The show airs March 4 on ABC. That's when the public will get its first look inside the Davis Islands home rebuilt last month after a small airplane crashed into it in June. While everyone was invited to see the house go up in a sleep-deprived 100-hour dash, the viewing party for the episode featuring Tom and Cynthia Tate and their three children is invitation only.

Moore's briefcase to be investigated

State Sen. Tony Hill, D-Jacksonville, said Gov. Charlie Crist agreed to investigate how a briefcase belonging to slain civil rights activist Harry T. Moore wound up in a barn 900 yards from his bombed home. The barn once belonged to two brothers, known racists, who were among the first on the scene of the 1951 bombing. The briefcase of was discovered there in November. Attorney General Bill McCollum's office recently concluded no further investigation was warranted.

Mark Glassman is a member of the Gaucho Association of Tampa. His krewe affiliation was incorrectly identified Wednesday in a photo caption about the Dunedin Mardi Gras parade.

TINY BABY AMILLIA FINALLY GOES HOME

Amillia Taylor is finally home. One of the world's smallest premature babies, Amillia was born in October measuring 9 1/2 inches and weighing less than 10 ounces. Doctors hoped to release Amillia on Tuesday but kept her an extra day because of a low white blood cell count. She weighs about 4 1/2 pounds and is just over 15 1/2 inches long.

FEMA trailer park closed

A temporary government trailer park in Punta Gorda that sheltered Hurricane Charley refugees for more than two years closed. The last residents of "FEMA City" moved out Tuesday, with one couple spending a final night because the water wasn't turned on yet in their new home.
