Transporting the raunchy across state lines

Remakes are an easy way for studios to make money these days. But do we really need a rehash of Police Academy 5: Assignment: Miami Beach? The producers of Reno 911!: Miami (R) would argue with that characterization of their movie, but it's their money on the line. The marginally popular Comedy Central series spoofing reality TV shows about cops and robbers can be raunchier on the big screen, which is the best reason to make the media leap. Reno 911!: Miami transports Nevada's dumbest law enforcement officers to South Florida for a national police convention that is attacked by terrorists. Expect plenty of absurd investigation tactics, unblurred nudity, profanity that isn't bleeped and drug jokes that can't sneak past Comedy Central standards and practices. Reno 911!: Miami wasn't shown to critics in time for Weekend review.
