The Citrus County Young Republicans will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Las Lomas Mexican Grill, 724 U.S. 41 S, Inverness. Call 344-8476.

The Citrus County Democratic Executive Committee is selling tickets for its annual FDR/JFK Dinner, beginning with a meet and greet social hour at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 Saturday at the West Citrus Elks Lodge, 7890 W Grover Cleveland Blvd., Homosassa. Featured speaker John Lambie of the Florida House Institute for Sustainable Development will speak on "Integration of the Environment and Development;" local environmental activist Helen Spivey will speak about local environmental issues. Karen Thurman, state Democratic chairwoman, will attend. Menu offers a choice of chicken cordon bleu, roast beef or vegetable plate. Tickets are $30. Call Ed Murphy, 382-0876.

The Citrus County Republican Executive Committee will meet at 7 p.m. March 5, American Legion Post 155, 6585 W Gulf to Lake Highway, State Road 44, Crystal River. Call 795-6526.

The Central Citrus Democratic Club will meet at 11 a.m. March 10 at the Central Ridge Library, 425 W Roosevelt Blvd., Beverly Hills. Anthony Camerino of the University of Florida Extension Service will address the harmful effects to the clarity of lakes, rivers and streams by fast release fertilizers. Camerino is an authority on the subject and will provide information on what types of fertilizers are beneficial and detrimental to our environment. The public is invited.
