Cyclist struck, killed by pickup on U.S. 19

WEEKI WACHEE - A Weeki Wachee man riding a bicycle on U.S. 19 was killed Saturday night when he was struck by a truck.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Michael S. Desnoes, 51, was southbound near the entrance to the Heather Golf and County Club on St. Andrews Boulevard about 10:30 p.m. when he was struck from behind by a 2000 Ford pickup driven by Charles S. Baughman of Plant City.

No charges have been filed, and the accident is under investigation.
