Paintings of European scenes by Karen L. Hayne will be exhibited through Tuesday in the UpStairs Gallery at the Pasco Arts Council's art center, 5744 Moog Road, Holiday. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. Free.

"Waiting for Guacamole," an exhibit of avocado images by Elizabeth Indianos, will be at the Pasco-Hernando Community College Art Gallery at the east end of the campus library building, 10230 Ridge Road, New Port Richey. Inquire at the library desk to admittance to the exhibit.

The musical Singin' in the Rain continues matinees and evenings through April 15 at the Show Palace Dinner Theatre, 16128 U.S. 19, Hudson. Shows are at 8 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and some Thursdays doors open at 6 p.m. for buffet and cash bar; 1:15 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and some Saturdays (11:30 a.m. for buffet and cash bar); 3 p.m. Sundays (doors open at 1 p.m.). The Thursday Musicale, a chorus of 50 women, will present the group's 2007 scholarship winners at its concert at 2 p.m. March 1 at Living Word Church, 5151 Rowan Road, New Port Richey. Performing will be French horn player Miriam Stevens; pianist Lesley Dennis, singers Christine Sexauer, Martina Taylor and Jesslyn Kostopoulos, and trombone player Alex Papadopoulos. Donations will be requested.
Battle of the Bands will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Des Little Stadium at Gulf High School, 5355 School Road (west of Madison Street) in New Port Richey. Admission is $5.
The classic movie musical Singin' in the Rain will be shown at 2 p.m. Saturday at Richey Suncoast Theatre, 6237 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey. Admission is free, open seating. The movie is the first in a series of classic films that will be shown for free at the theater, courtesy Friends of the NPR Public Library and the theater.
Center Stage Theater and Dance Studio will present "Vibrations," a musical show starring ages 5 to adult doing country, contemporary, hip hop dance and song to benefit the Deaf & Hard of Hearing Services of Florida, Inc. Pianist-singer Ed Linderman will perform "We Couldn't Get Barry Manilow, Victor Borge, Michael Feinstein or Suzanne Somers, so Here's Ed!" at 2 p.m. at Hudson Regional Library, 8012 Library Road, Hudson. Singer-musician Paul Saik will perform opera, Broadway and sacred music at a concert at 3 p.m. March 4 at St. Mark's Presbyterian Church, 7922 State Road 52, Hudson. A tenor, Saik has performed with the Des Moines Metro Opera and the Santa Fe Opera. He has released two recordings of religious music. Stage West Community Playhouse will present the musical comedy A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, starring Peter Clapsis as Pseudolus.
