The Arc Nature Coast is seeking donations of lumber for various projects. The lumber can be finished or unfinished and of any size. Pickups can be arranged. All donations are tax-deductible. For information, call George Baxter at 544-2322, ext. 113.

Seminar explains water reuse ideas

Hernando County Utilities will host its next Water Awareness seminar from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at the department facility at 21030 Cortez Blvd. The seminar topic is "Water Reuse 101," and will be presented by Anthony Andrade from Southwest Florida Water Management District and Bob Peacock of the Pinellas County Utilities Department. The program is a guide to understanding how reusing water can be a critical component in Florida's water conservation strategy and the future of water supplies. Dump site hours are changing

Hernando County Utilities Department/Solid Waste and Recycling Division has announced that business hours will change next week at the West Hernando Transfer Station, 2525 Osowaw Blvd. Starting Sunday, hours at the Spring Hill facility will coincide with the East Hernando Transfer Station, 33070 Cortez Blvd., in Ridge Manor. Both facilities will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and will be closed Sundays and Mondays. For information, call Ron Pearson at 754-4112, ext. 119.
