Florida State point guard Toney Douglas, out for the past five games with a fractured bone in his right shooting hand, is expected to be back by at least next week's ACC tournament in Tampa, coach Leonard Hamilton said.
"I don't think there's any doubt that he'll come back by that time," Hamilton said.
Douglas, the Seminoles' second-leading scorer, had not done any long-range shooting and couldn't dribble with his right hand with any aggressiveness. And he had been shooting free throws with his left hand. Still, the fracture is "somewhat healed," Hamilton said, and Douglas is mainly dealing with pain.
The Seminoles lost four without Douglas - but they lost five if factoring in that he missed much of the Clemson game when he was injured.
Lucky fans to hear about ACC tournament tickets
A little more than 200 tickets to the ACC tournament have been made available from the 12 schools for each of the two opening-day sessions.
The St. Pete Times Forum said it will buy back tickets for the March 8 games and offer them, at $77.75 each per session, to fans who had signed up for a lottery. Times Forum officials said more than 1,000 people entered and they learned Monday how many tickets would be available through the redistribution.
The ACC schools can offer additional tickets for the two sessions by March 5. Times Forum officials had said they couldn't guarantee reselling the tickets that late, but they are confident doing so won't be a problem.
