Arts and crafts on tap at BayWalk art event

Author/USF professor to speak at luncheon

Gary Mormino, author of Land of Sunshine, State of Dreams, and a professor at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg, will be the keynote speaker at the Pinellas County Historical Society's 28th annual Magnolia Luncheon.

The event begins at 11:30 a.m. March 26 at Bon Appetit, 148 Marina Plaza in Dunedin, and will benefit Heritage Village.

School plans fish fry and movie Friday night

St. Patrick Catholic School, 1501 Trotter Road, Largo, will hold a fish fry from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday inside Monsignor McCall Parish Hall.

Pizza will be available for non-fish eaters. Tickets are $8 for adults; $3 for children. After dinner, a family movie will be shown on the church lawn, with popcorn and snow cones for sale.

Orchestra's showhouse open until March 18

The Florida Orchestra Guild's 33rd annual Designers' Showhouse runs through March 18 at 125 Lamara Way NE, St. Petersburg.

All Children's auction to benefit new hospital

The 30th annual All Children's Benefit Auction will be held March 9 at the Seminole Recreation Center Auditorium. There will be a special auction preview from 5-6 p.m.

The live auction will begin at 6 p.m. More than 150 items donated by local businesses will be auctioned. All proceeds will go toward building a new hospital. Clean Marina program plans workshop

The Port of St. Petersburg will host a "Clean Marina" workshop Tuesday from 8:30 a.m.-noon at Cruise Terminal No. 1, 250 Eighth Ave. SE.

The Clean Marina program is a year-round effort to promote awareness of the importance of clean water for clean boating by boating families, marina operators, boat dealers and manufacturers.

Golf tourney to benefit homeless shelter

Registration is open for the Boley Centers' fund-raising golf tournament on April 5 at the St. Petersburg Country Club.

Entry fee is $125 per golfer, with proceeds benefiting the Pinellas County Safe Haven, a facility for homeless people with mental health issues.

Dance to raise funds for Sertoma Club

Dance instructor Frank Ingo will teach and demonstrate at "Dancing with the All Stars," a March 24 Sertoma fundraiser at the St. Petersburg Country Club, 2000 Country Club Way S. Hours are 6 to 11 p.m.

Tickets cost $60 and include dinner, a silent auction, dance contests and music by Lucian and the All Stars. Proceeds benefit Sertoma charities.

Bowl for Bowser to raise money for pets at SPCA

The SPCA is sponsoring Bowl for Bowser from noon to 5 p.m. March 24 at Seminole Lanes, 8668 Park Blvd., Largo.

The bowl-a-thon will benefit the more than 15,000 homeless pets at SPCA Tampa Bay through registration fees, individual and team fundraising, and an auction.
