Benefits specialist to speak March 9

Emily Horton, a benefits specialist and Community Work Incentives Coordinator from Abilities of Florida, will be the guest speaker at the March 9 meeting of FFRA Families and Friends of Retarded Adults beginning at 9 a.m. with social time and a meeting in the Chet Cole Life Enrichment Center at the Key Training Center in Lecanto. Horton will speak at 10 a.m. The public is invited to attend the monthly meetings of FFRA. Call Ron Phillips at 382-7819 or Stephanie Hopper at 344-0288.

Project Graduation plans golf tourney

The Lecanto High Project Graduation will hold a fundraising golf tournament and silent auction with an 8 a.m. check-in on March 13 at Citrus Hills Golf and Country Club. The scramble shotgun start will be at 8:30 a.m. Tickets are $20. This includes green fees, cart fees, silent auction and lunch immediately afterward in the Hampton Room (salad, entree, vegetable, potato and dessert). One guest per golfer is welcome for lunch/silent auction for an additional $20. All proceeds will benefit Lecanto High School Project Graduation. Academy lets you learn about district

The Citrus County School District is offering another session of the Little Red Schoolhouse Academy, a seven-week interaction series for community members interested in learning about the school district. It will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. March 27, April 3, 10, 17 and 24, and May 1 and 8. To register, call Pat Lancaster at 726-1931, ext. 2205.

Volleyball program every Wednesday

Citrus County Parks and Recreation is sponsoring an Open Gym Volleyball Program at the Lecanto Middle School gymnasium for ages 16 and up from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays. The cost is $3 per person. This is open play; no preformed teams allowed. All participants will have equal playing opportunity, and rotation is required.
