TEAMS NAMED 'SUNCOAST CHAMPIONS'
This month, Notre Dame School won the title of "Suncoast Champions" in basketball for both boys and girls. The school also had a fifth-grade DARE graduation ceremony.

Hernando High will host "Parent/Student Night for Incoming Freshman (Class of 2011)" at 6:30 p.m. March 13 in the auditorium. The school's Advisory Council meeting is the same day at 5:30 p.m. in the main office.

Teachers job fair offered in April
The District Instructional Job Fair is in the gym at Central High this year. For secondary educators, it runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 14. For elementary teachers, the hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 21. Anyone considering a teaching career in Hernando County is invited.
Guard/Flag Corps members compete
Hernando High School's Indoor Guard/Flag Corps members Tiffany Cobb, Chelsea Hall, Kristen Looper, Samantha Waddell, Elizabeth Cataldo, Kimberlee Steinman, Heather Beyer, Jennifer Hoffland Melody Hayes, and Megan Mohr competed in solo flag performance and group ensemble recently. In the solo flag performance category, six students received a superior rating, four received an excellent.

Nature Coast Technical hosts a countywide ESOL (English to speakers of other languages) parent conference from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. March 15. Breakout sessions are in Spanish and English. 'A Day in the Life of a First-Grader'
At Moton Elementary, parents can experience "A Day in the Life of a First-Grader" from 5 to 7 p.m. March 8. Parents of first-grade students will meet teachers, go through actual class events and get to ask questions. See what it's like to be a first-grader and find out what's coming in second grade. Bring your child kids will see a movie in the cafeteria while parents go to class.
