World Prayer Day: The Greater Brandon unit of Church Women United hosts a world prayer day gathering today at Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 826 S Miller Road, Valrico. Registration is at 10:45 a.m. The program begins at 11 a.m., and a covered-dish luncheon follows. Call 684-4689.

Hawaiian Purim: Chabad of Brandon presents a Hawaiian luau Purim at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Center Place, 619 Vonderburg Drive, Brandon. The celebration will include fire-eaters, dancing, and a Hawaiian buffet. All are welcome, regardless of affiliation or background. The cost is $18 for adults, $15 for children. Call 657-9393.
