Baseball

Ben Koenigsfeld, Ridgewood

Okay, so how great was this guy's week? First, he throws a shutout and drives in a run against archrival Ridgewood, giving coach Larry Beets his 500th win. Then he bails the Rams out on Tuesday with a relief win while going 4-for-4 with four RBIs and a three-run homer. Then he homers and drives in three more runs against Pasco, albeit in a loss.

Softball

Amber Hay, Academy at the Lakes

Talk about your aces. This promising eighth-grader was 3-1 during the past week with a no-hitter, a shutout and 54 strikeouts in four games. And she can hit, too. Hay was 9-for-16 with nine RBIs and seven steals. She's batting .522 this season with a double, a home run, 12 RBIs and 10 steals.

Tennis

Yumi Hasegawa, Wesley Chapel

The senior needed three sets to top rival Jeanette McDonald of Central, then teamed with Alexa Burns and survived a 10-point tiebreaker in place of a third set to win doubles. It wasn't enough for a Wildcats win, but it showed Hasegawa is the one to beat this year.
