Northeast running back Jeff Brinson received an offer from the University of Iowa, Vikings coach Jay Austin said Thursday. Brinson, who will be a senior next season, was a first-team all-county selection last year when he ran for 1,197 yards and scored 23 touchdowns. He is the second Northeast player to get an offer from a major Division I-A program in as many weeks. Javontae Boyd, a defensive lineman/tight end, was offered by Georgia on Feb. 23. There could be more. Stanford and Duke are interested in Vikings quarterback/linebacker Armando Sanchez. Bob Putnam can be reached at putnam@sptimes.com or at 727 445-4169.
